Congratulations! You’re pregnant! Now what?! You probably have a million different things going on in your head about your growing baby (ie baby names, nursery ideas, and birthing techniques)! Of course, that is of utmost importance, but please don’t forget about mom! You are important too and trust us when we say that if you want to take care of your baby, you must take care of yourself too! We compiled a list of pregnancy must-haves -- from maternity clothing to a pregnancy pillow and everything in between.

Pregnant moms live in maternity leggings (not maternity jeans-- let us be real!) so they should be comfortable and supportive. These also fit nicely around the belly for extra coverage. They are perfect for fall, winter, and spring! And of course, leggings can be dressed up or down. We love them with a cozy sweater!
Maternity pillows are a must, especially for the second and third trimesters. They cradle your belly and help you have as restful sleep as possible. Sleeping while pregnant is not always easy, but a pregnancy pillow definitely helps.
Prenatal vitamins are essential for prenatal care. They help fill in those nutrient gaps for when it matters most. Let’s face it, pregnancy diets are not always “perfect.” Prenatal vitamins are like your very own insurance policy to make sure you’re getting all the nutrients that you and your growing baby need.
We are a women-owned prenatal vitamin company. We believe you deserve the best quality and superior ingredients for you and your growing baby. Each ingredient is third-party tested for purity and potency. Our formula is also free of artificial colors and flavors, chemicals, preservatives, dairy, soy, and gluten. And we even added organic peppermint and ginger to help ease morning sickness.
Hydration is super important for pregnant women! Pregnant women need to stay hydrated to keep themselves and their growing baby healthy. At least 8-12, 8 oz glasses of water daily is ideal, especially in the summer months when it’s super-hot and anyone can become easily dehydrated. That's why we love this 46 oz bottle-- plus it’s super cute and keeps your water cold! Water requirements increase during pregnancy because women need to form amniotic fluid, produce extra blood, build new tissue, carry nutrients, enhance digestion, and flush out waste and toxins.

Our co-founder and mom of 2, Amanda, swears by this cocoa butter. Anything to help prevent stretch marks! Of course, with stretch marks, genetics comes into play but every little bit helps and this lotion is a clear winner. You can also find lotions with shea butter but cocoa butter smells amazing and works just as effectively. Plus, this Jason version is as natural as it gets.
You may be thinking why is a blender a pregnancy essential? Eating a smoothie is a great way to get a lot of nutrients in for a small amount of food, plus it really works out well if you’re feeling nauseous. You can even add our Feed Mom Me prenatal vitamins in your smoothie and get our free e-book, Perfect Pregnancy Smoothies for free upon purchase. We love the NutriBullet blender because it’s small and easy to use (and easy to clean!).
Here is one of our favorite smoothie recipes:
Immune Boosting Smoothie:
- 1 banana, frozen
- 3 orange slices
- ½ cup mango, frozen or fresh
- ½ tbsp chia seed
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup oats
- ¼ cup plain whole milk yogurt
- Blend all ingredients together and enjoy!
A great robe like this will literally snuggle you all the way through the pregnancy and then to postpartum and beyond. It’s worth the money. The buttery soft material is like heaven and it’s just about the comfiest robe on the market. This robe plus compression socks (if you need them) and slippers are a whole pregnancy mood.
You can’t go wrong with a comfy house slipper. Pregnancy can be really tough on your feet. Tired and swollen feet need a little extra love and support and these are the perfect slipper for the job!
When you’re pregnant, you may feel like you’re walking on cloud 9. With these sneakers-- you definitely will be. They’re super comfy and stylish and come in a range of pretty colors. They can also be worn as slip-ons, which are definitely a plus for pregnant women!
We are never going back to wire bras after this! These are the comfiest pregnancy and nursing bras on the market. They’re also super supportive and pretty looking! A woman’s breasts change rapidly from pregnancy to postpartum and these bras literally carry you through.
Whether you take weekly belly pics with your smartphone or splurge on a professional maternity photo shoot -- it’s important to document your pregnancy. It’s a beautiful, special, and fleeting time in your life that should be cherished and remembered. Put all the pictures in a pregnancy journal or special box with other pregnancy belongings. You’ll be happy you did it!
A little extra support can come from a belly support band. It can save your poor pregnancy back and can go under your clothes. Pregnancy can take its toll on a woman’s body so this belly band back brace is a thing pregnant women need.
Before purchasing maternity clothes, give these belly band shirt extenders a go. They go over your unbuttoned pants/jeans and under your shirt so you can extend the life of your clothes. You can wear them well into your 2nd trimester. They are super comfortable too!
Natural Toothpaste
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), pregnant women are more likely to develop cavities or gum disease. And a mother’s oral health care is also a strong predictor of their future child's oral health status. We choose a more natural type of toothpaste that will thoroughly clean teeth without any harmful chemicals or additives so it is sure to be safe and effective.
There are a lot of deodorants out there with “scary” ingredients that can potentially harm your unborn baby. A more natural, safe, and effective deodorant to use during pregnancy is a must. We love this one (and their short ingredients list!) from Vermont Soapworks.
CPR and baby course Info from Tinyhood
While pregnancy is beautiful it can also bring on some anxieties and stress about becoming a mama! Being prepared can help you alleviate any type of stress. Taking newborn parenting and CPR courses can be a good choice if you and your family have many types of questions and especially if this is your first pregnancy. Tinyhood classes are convenient because they can be taken online at your own pace.
